I was recently reading an article from Mind Movies. I was inspired to create my own tips on finding success and creating success in your own life, based on my past experience! If you have any other tips, we’d love to hear in the comments!
Tip 1- Get up and get going. Start your day early and embrace the day.
Think you do your best work at night? Research actually shows that people are more proactive in the morning and much more productive at that time of the day as well. Even if you like to occasionally sleep in, get yourself out of bed and make the most of the day. Watching the sun come up is inspiring and a motivator for the rest of the day. Focus first on priorities, and accomplish more in the day.
Tip 2- Shake it off. Move Your Body!
Let’s face it, when we move and stretch our bodies, we instantly feel better. Movement triggers our body to release stress and endorphins. Let’s face it, we need to move, stretch or even tap our feet under the desk. My best days start with a walk or workout while listening to my favourite music. If you find yourself getting a little stressed during the day, take a walk down the hall or stand up and take a couple of deep breaths. This will enable you to focus.
Tip 3- Take Ownership of Your Own Happiness-no one else can!
Happiness is a choice so choose to be happy and not wait for external influences. You can find joy in the simplest things in life; a smile, sunshine, or a conversation. Look for the positive in every situation and treat life as the ultimate gift! Make the decision to be happy right now! 🙂 Remember, you attract who you are.
Tip 4- Plan ahead and set some goals.
To maximize your potential, have a clear vision of what you want out of life, work, love…you get the picture! Develop some short and long term goals, something that is meaningful to you and what you want to achieve. This will give you direction. Map out your day; Plan your day and make the most of it. A great time for this is first thing in the morning. (See #1!) 🙂
Tip 5- Be appreciative for what you have and make time for yourself/loved ones.
Take the time to be appreciative for what you have – celebrate all successes, big or small. Successful people value the importance of setting aside some time for themselves, and their loved ones. Take time to disconnect and smell the roses. This time is as valuable as working, as it allows you to energize and replenish your mind, body, and soul. It doesn’t need to be long, but it needs to be done…even if you love your job!
